600V High-Voltage Architecture
Supports wide-voltage power supply for server fans
The chip features a maximum floating withstand voltage of 600V, with VCC operating voltage ranging from 12V to 18V. It perfectly adapts to the operating conditions of server power supplies and is compatible with 12V/24V DC cooling fans. With ample bus voltage margin and superior overall voltage withstand redundancy, it reliably handles voltage fluctuations and power-on surges in server rooms.
Wide logic level: 3.3V~15V, capable of direct connection to MCU.
Input pins are compatible with 3.3V/5V main control signals. DSP and MCUs commonly used in server fans require no additional level shifting circuits. This reduces peripheral BOM count, saves PCB layout space, and fits the circuit board design of compact and ultra-thin server fans.
Built-in fixed 500ns dead time plus shoot-through protection prevents device burnout in fans.
The IC integrates approximately 500ns dead time and high-side/low-side shoot-through protection, eliminating external RC dead-time components. It fundamentally avoids short circuits caused by simultaneous conduction of upper and lower MOSFETs. This design effectively resolves power device burnout issues resulting from long-term full-load operation and frequent start-stop cycles of server fans, fully adapting to 7×24 non-stop operating conditions.
Source/sink drive current: 290mA / 620mA, delivering powerful fan startup performance.
IO+: 290mA, IO-: 620mA high sink drive current. It quickly discharges gate Miller charge, ensuring stable torque during cold start and loaded start of the fan. This eliminates weak startup, jitter and abnormal noise of fans in high-temperature server environments, and optimizes fan noise performance and energy efficiency.
Full-circuit protection: UVLO (Under Voltage Lockout) + Input Short-Circuit Protection
Independent high-side and low-side UVLO protection plus input short-circuit protection automatically locks drive outputs upon abnormal voltage or accidental input short circuit. It effectively safeguards MOSFETs against power-on surges and momentary voltage dips in servers, greatly reducing fan failure and repair rates to meet stringent reliability requirements for server applications.
TWO|Mass Production & Large-scale Deployment for Server Fans
Currently, PT5607 is in volume supply to leading manufacturers of server cooling fans, with wide application coverage as follows:
Part.1
Built-in BLDC cooling fans for rack-mounted servers
Part.2
Axial cooling fans for server cabinets
Part.3
Cooling fans for industrial control equipment
THREE|Application Implementation Tips
No.1
For 12V-powered server fans, 15V is the recommended typical VCC supply voltage. Build the half-bridge driver with a standard bootstrap circuit.
PT5607 can be directly pin-to-pin mounted to replace original IR21xx solutions, with no hardware or software modifications required.
SOP8 surface-mount package is recommended for compact ultra-thin fans to save PCB space.
